After a marathon four days of workshops, two in Melbourne and two in Sydney, I treated myself to a morning of mooching around the Rocks in Sydney. I remembered so clearly the time my mum had brought me and my brothers and sister here for a holiday. We stayed in a caravan out of the city (a fancy caravan!) and we caught the train into Circular Quay and traipsed all through the Rocks — me gathering brochures from every single thing we passed. At the end of the day I lay on the top bunk in the caravan and poured through my catalogues. I think my mum even let me carry a handbag, to store all my papers. That was a great day.
As an adult, I lived in Sydney for over 10 years (all of my 20’s) and memories flooded back as I passed all the bars I had worked as a DJ. Looked like nothing had changed, except the music I suppose
I loved every second of this day. I highly recommend grabbing your camera and taking a walk around your old haunts. It was blissful.
Just me and my 50mm lens.
